Meet the Sexton Team

Sexton Lawn & Landscape’s leadership team believe that if they take great care of our team members they will ultimately take great care of our clients. We achieve this with a clear career ladder, structured and systemized training, above average wages, tuition reimbursement, performance bonuses and a retirement plan with a company match.

Really putting our money where our mouth is, we feel this philosophy gives us our strategic advantage over our competition as well as the ability to provide superior service to our clients. We believe in the team concept so much we don’t even use the word employee.

Just like the best teams in the sporting world, we recruit, hire, train and retain the best talent and ultimately that talent serves you. Working as a team with our customers enables us to bring life to their landscape dreams while building lasting relationships based on trust and confidence in our services.

Sid Sexton

CEO/Visionary

As the founder of Sexton Lawn & Landscape, Sid is a down-to-earth, honest businessman with a love for lawn care, landscape design, and delivering the best products to his clients. From the initial consultation and estimate to translating ideas into designs and installing each piece of a landscape, Sid is a hands-on owner and makes sure his clients receive the highest quality in every aspect of their landscape design, lawn maintenance and lawn care projects.

Sid works with his team as a fellow player, while still fulfilling his responsibilities of running a successful business. His “team” mentality stems from a lifetime of playing sports. He attended Missouri Valley College on a soccer scholarship, where he further developed his teamwork philosophy that “everyone has their part, and when we all do our jobs well, we can accomplish so much more than we can individually.”

Starting at the age of 16, Sid spent his summers working for a local landscape company and the local country club and golf course in his hometown of Muskogee, Oklahoma. After earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in horticulture, Sid joined the U.S. Coast Guard and was stationed in Hawaii, where he met his wife, Jourdan. He was honorably discharged after two years, and began working as an account manager for a landscape company. He and Jourdan moved to Daphne in January 2004, and Sid founded Sexton Lawn & Landscape.

He also worked part time with the City of Daphne’s Horticulture Department and completed Faulkner State’s horticulture program to expand his knowledge of the local plant palate.

Sid is licensed in turf & ornament spraying, landscape design, and setting of landscape plants. He is also a Certified Landscape Professional (ALCLP), and continues his education through workshops, online courses and other events several times throughout the year.

Brandon Tukua

Landscape Project Manager

Brandon Tukua joined the Sexton team in early February, bringing with him a wealth of experience and passion for the landscaping industry. Prior to this role, Brandon served as a General Manager in the Lawn Treatment sector, where he honed his skills and deepened his understanding of landscape care.

Originally from Cartersville, Georgia, Brandon moved to Baldwin County with his beautiful wife and daughter. His journey in the landscape industry began in earnest in 2013, although his love for landscaping stretches back to his middle school and high school years when he mowed lawns for cash. This early experience ignited a lifelong dedication to learning every facet of the industry— designing, installing, maintaining, and treating landscapes.

Brandon is driven by a genuine desire to help people create comfortable and enjoyable outdoor environments. He believes in the power of landscaping to enhance personal experiences and support local wildlife. In his role at Sexton, he is excited to build strong, lasting relationships with clients, ensuring their outdoor spaces not only meet but exceed their expectations.

Maggie Coker

Landscape Project Manager

Maggie grew up in Thomasville, AL, where her love for plants started early—digging in the dirt and learning how things grow. She went on to deepen that passion at Auburn University, earning a degree in horticulture with a concentration in landscape design.

After graduating, Maggie and her husband made Daphne their home, and she soon joined Sexton as a landscape sales designer. She has a knack for creating outdoor spaces that families can truly enjoy—whether it’s making memories together or wowing guests and passersby.

When she’s not designing dream landscapes, Maggie enjoys baking, spending time with friends and family, or cozy movie nights with her husband, their miniature dachshund, and their cat.

Justin Koen

Justin Koen

Director of Operations

Justin Koen joined our team in August 2017 as our Director of Landscape. Stemming from a high school summer job, his love for horticulture blossomed instantly. Since starting as a laborer at a small family owned landscape and garden center in Leroy, AL in 1999, he has worked directly in almost every facet of the industry including large commercial landscape and irrigation installation, large campus landscape maintenance, Homeowners Association landscape management, installed large scale retaining walls, drainage systems, and erosion mitigation, sod, tree, and shrub nursery production, and of course his favorite, residential landscape design, installation, and maintenance.

Justin served as General Manager of Blooming Colors, a large retail garden center in Auburn, AL as he self-funded his pursuit of his B.S. in Ornamental Horticulture from Auburn University (2004). He credits this role as the backbone of his career as he learned how to use active listening and apply his knowledge and skills to fill his client’s needs and wants.

After college, Justin worked as a Project Manager in West Palm Beach Florida and Atlanta Georgia before returning to Auburn to start his own residential landscape design/build firm where he could do what he really loved; working one on one with homeowners to design and build their own unique personal spaces. Fate brought him to Baldwin County in 2014 and he plans to call the Gulf Coast home from now on. Delivering the highest quality, life-long landscapes as unique as his clients are what drive him and his pursuit in continuing his education. Justin is licensed by the State of Alabama in Setting of Landscape Plants (SLP) and Landscape Design (LD) and has earned certificates as a Certified Landscape Manager and Certified Urban Forester through Auburn University at Montgomery.

He has also earned a certificate from the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute as a certified installer of concrete pavers. He is currently pursuing his International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist certification. When he isn’t designing, building, or managing landscapes he can usually be found spending time with his three young children or teaching his Sunday school class at First Baptist Church of Foley (7th and 8th grade boys). Also an avid outdoorsman, Justin is always on the lookout to find a quiet spot in the woods or a calm day to get out on the water hoping to bring home dinner.
